From a distance the ingenious roof reminds us of Japanese origami creations and transforms the otherwise simple nature retreat into a dramatic eye-catching structure that is set against an equally awe-inspiring tropical countryside.
Then there are others who are turning to groundbreaking designs like shipping container homes and versatile prefab metallic structures to cut back both on carbon footprint and costs. Embracing this green wave is the Main Street House by SHED Architecture & Design in.
The idea was to design a home whose aura was as close as possible to the homeowners’ previous farm house clad in wood paper and concrete. Criss-crossing wooden beams make up the most prominent feature of the home and allow natural ventilation to make its way through to the top level.
The first level incorporates a dining and kitchen area that opens up towards the terrace while a spacious living area is tucked away on the opposite side. The top floor holds the twin offices for the couple along with a deck area that offers lovely views of the gorgeous landscape around the house.
A large bedroom for children is shared by both daughters and was created combining two smaller rooms that existed in its place. Old abandoned shelves and reclaimed wooden pallets have been turned into shelves with simple carpentry skills and some repainting!
Nothing beats the cozy snug appeal of a beautiful cottage-style home that is surrounded by a lush green landscape and bright colorful flowers. It epitomizes the image of an ideal relaxing hub where most of us would gladly wane away days and hours while escaping the unending rush of our daily urban lives. Combining this comfortable cottage appeal with a color palette that borrows from the coastal look as well as accents that seem trendy and industrial this lovely home near in evokes memories of a dreamy lazy summer evening!
Instead this elegant home is all about reconnecting with nature. Surrounded by ample greenery and offering unabated views of the ocean in the distance the minimalist residence is spread across five levels that tap into the panoramic landscape outside.
