The idea was to design a home whose aura was as close as possible to the homeowners’ previous farm house clad in wood paper and concrete. Criss-crossing wooden beams make up the most prominent feature of the home and allow natural ventilation to make its way through to the top level.
From a distance the ingenious roof reminds us of Japanese origami creations and transforms the otherwise simple nature retreat into a dramatic eye-catching structure that is set against an equally awe-inspiring tropical countryside.
Black and white framed photographs a giant LOVE sculpture by in grey and contemporary furnishings grace the adjacent dining area. Pop art additions seem to be an integral part of the design scheme of the house as they make their imposing presence felt even in the bedrooms and the bathroom.
An open living area on the second floor with a living room dining room and kitchen along with a media room and an open-air courtyard acts as the heart of the house. Tranquil and cozy bedrooms spa-like home bathrooms and a relaxing sauna and steam room complete this fabulous Tribeca penthouse.
The main kitchen family area dining space and additional bedrooms are located on the lower level of the house while the top level includes the living area a second kitchen and the master bedroom. This means that pretty much every room in the house provides unobstructed views of the waves in the distance.
