With an unabated view of the majestic valley below this cool home was once a simple cottage that needed an extension and revamp thanks to the growing needs of the family. In came architect Matt Elkan who transformed the space while keeping the cozy cottage style firmly intact.

The home plays host to Danzig her husband two daughters and her parents and the design of the new revamped house was completed with the needs of every single member in mind. An open floor plan houses the living room the dining space and the modern kitchen that is neatly tucked away in the corner.
Reclaimed wood accents are coupled with pristine white walls and metallic pendants to bring together a wide array of textures. A living room that is both comfy and serene offers unabated views of Lake Wisconsin while the stone fireplace becomes the focal point of the room.
While it resembles one of those lavish retreats from the outside the Naked House is all about stripping away unnecessary frills and ‘over the top’ opulence. After spending years around some of the most luxurious homes and five-star getaways in the region Gerritsen wanted to move away from this modern trend.
Minimal and understated the decor is also kept as simple as possible with large pendants and paper lanterns stealing the show. While the first floor houses the private spaces the lower level holds an open-plan living area along with a smart bedroom that leads to the revamped garden. With sliding glass doors translucent panels and shoji screens the switch between privacy and open flowing interiors is seamless indeed.
