Renovating an ’80s home into a contemporary residence that fits the specific needs of a homeowner is a task that is challenging enough. But the founder of Marco Costanzi Architetti was faced with a challenge that is far more unconventional and demanded greater sensitivity.
Like many of the lavish residences that we have previously seen from this fabulous residence is filled with decor that is trendy and timeless. With the balanced use of rock steel wood and glass the exclusive house exudes inviting warmth.
In fact if you switched around some of the decor it may very well seem like an Asian-inspired home! With partial views of and Leschi Park the house is spread across three different levels. The basement features the entry and a bedroom and it leads to the more open levels above.
Clad in wood concrete steel and glass the home embraces an unfinished and almost industrial style. The pool large terrace smart kitchen and living area form the core of the house with two bedrooms on the bottom level and a home office on the top floor. A freestanding open-air bathroom and an eye-catching master bedroom steal the show while a separate level houses the maid’s room along with the steam room the laundry room and the pantry.

With an unabated view of the majestic valley below this cool home was once a simple cottage that needed an extension and revamp thanks to the growing needs of the family. In came architect Matt Elkan who transformed the space while keeping the cozy cottage style firmly intact.
The idea was to design a home whose aura was as close as possible to the homeowners’ previous farm house clad in wood paper and concrete. Criss-crossing wooden beams make up the most prominent feature of the home and allow natural ventilation to make its way through to the top level.
